• Acts 15 Makes It Clear the Law Doesn't Apply to Gentiles

    The Jerusalem Council in Acts 15 makes it clear that there are only four requirements of Gentile Christians: Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to God from among the Gentiles, but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. (Acts 15:19-20) Clearly the Law of Moses does not apply to us!

  • All Things Are Lawful For Me- 1 Cor 6:12

    All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.  (1 Corinthians 6:12) Paul says it twice!  All things are lawful for him as a Christian!

  • Christ Abolished the Law- Ephesians 2:14

    Paul makes it clear that Christ abolished the Law: "For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity." (Ephesians 2:14-16)   On the cross, Christ abolished the Law of Moses with all of its commandments and ordinances.

  • Christ Is the End of the Law- Romans 10:4

    Paul says to the believers in Rome: For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.  (Romans 10:4) If you are a believer then Christ ended the Law. If you are still attempting to keep the Law then you aren't a believer.

    In Paul's first epistle to Timothy, he informs us: For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer. Christians can eat whatever we want as long as we receive it with gratitude.

  • Every Person Must Be Convinced in His Own Mind- Romans 14:5

    Paul teaches us: One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.  (Romans 14:5) The Sabbath is whatever day we want to observe and are convinced in our minds to observe.  God has ended the law requiring a specific day for the Sabbath.

  • Faith Has Come We Are No Longer Under the Law- Gal 3:23

    But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the law, being shut up to the faith which was later to be revealed. Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. (Galatians 3:23-25)   If you have faith then you are no longer under a tutor/the Law!

    Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God. (Romans 7:4) Christians are dead to the Law!  The Law no longer applies to those in Christ.

  • I Am In the New Covenant Not the Old- 2 Cor 3:5

    Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. (2 Corinthians 3:5-6) Scripture says that Christians are servants of a new covenant not the old covenant.

    Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day-- things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17) Paul tells us those things don't apply to Christians and nobody should judge us for it.

  • Jesus Declared All Foods Clean- Mark 7:19

    And He said to them, "Are you so lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the man from outside cannot defile him, because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and is eliminated?" (Thus He declared all foods clean.)  (Mark 7:18-19) With this first step, Jesus began dismantling the old law in favor of His new one.

  • Jesus Delivered Us From Bondage to the Law- Romans 7:6

    For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. (Romans 7:5-6) The Bible says we are delivered from the bondage of the law and that we should serve Christ in the newness of the Spirit and not the oldness of the letter.
