God was apparently done with all of that so He allowed the Temple to be destroyed and it hasn't been rebuilt in 2,000 years.

The Response

No Scripture has been given to support this objection when it is presented.

What such an objection suggests is that God changed His mind about that whole "Mosaic Law" thing.

First, God never changes (Malachi 3:6) and second, such a claim makes God out to be a liar:

He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations...  (Psalm 105:8)

And just to be clear, the only covenant with words commanded throughout a thousand generations is the Sinai covenant (Exodus 16:32, Leviticus 7:36, Numbers 15:23).

A thousand generations (figuratively speaking) is forever.  If we want to consider it to be a literal thousand generations then we are talking about 40,000 years... 20,000 at a minimum.

You'd think if God wanted it ended in 70 AD then He would have commanded it for only 40 generations.

No, this is not something that God changed His mind about.
